Nepal - IDP settlements

"

Following the 2015 earthquake that killed almost 9,000 people and injured nearly 22,000, many villages were deemed unsafe and have been relocated to temporary settlements where internally displaced people (IDP) still live under precarious shelters and lack of proper energy access. This photoreportage portrays the lived experiences of internally displaced people in 4 different settlements in Rasuwa District, situated in the north-west of Kathmandu and one of the most severely affected districts in Nepal. Photos were taken between September and December 2018 to support the qualitative analysis carried out by the ‘Humanitarian Engineering and Energy for Displacement project (HEED)’ led by Coventry University.
